Indianapolis is the capital city of the State of Indiana considered as one of the largest and most populated cities in the US, it is second only population wise to the city of Phoenix in Arizona.
Large, metropolitan, highly advanced in both technology and industries, this city also boasts of extensive parks boasting a coverage area of more than 10,000 acres. One of the most famous is the Garfield Park, considered the oldest city park in Indianapolis which showcases a conservatory and numerous sunken gardens. There is also the Eagle Creek Park, the largest municipal park which ranks as one of the biggest parks in an urban setting in the entire United States.
This city also has the largest zoo in the State of Indiana where more than 360 species of animals are exhibited. The Indianapolis Zoo is also famous for its dolphin exhibit which also includes the one and only underwater viewing dome within the Midwest.
Theatres, performing arts and other live performances are also to be expected in this bustling city. A lot of visitors come to the city to see the liver performances like Broadway hits, comedies and musicals and concerts. In fact, some visitors simply go to Indianapolis overnight just to see these shows.
The city also has numerous museums and galleries that appeal to the art lovers who come from all over the country. Car enthusiasts, sports enthusiasts as well as science and technology fanatics can come and visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, the Children’s Museum as well as the other museums.

Indianapolis is just like any other Midwestern city. There is a mix of forests and prairies that cover the land area but there is also the metropolitan. The climate is humid and hot during spring and summer and it can be cool to cold during autumn and winter. The best time to go to this city would be autumn and winter if avoiding the rainy months of spring and summer. Otherwise, the city welcomes all visitors with open arms.
