Are you taking a trip to Baltimore? Well good for you, that means you have a lot of time on your hands and you chose to spend it in a city that has as much attitude as it does charm. In fact, its very character is part of its charm. Baltimore is a tough city but that does not mean that there isn’t anything to do. in fact, there are a lot of things you can do to entertain yourself and leave Baltimore with a twinkle in your eye.
First places you should visit are some restaurants to get some amazing food. One such place is called Blue Agave which is a Mexican restaurant that serves a mean pork camitas platter with servings large enough to feed a horse. If, you know, horses actually ate pork; if you prefer to eat some seafood, head on over to Bertha’s for some tasty seafood cuisine. Make sure you leave enough space for dessert though because another place you should drop by to grab some dessert is an Italian restaurant called Vaccaro’s Pastry where they serve the most divine tiramisu and gelato.
After all that delicious food, you might want to walk it all off by visiting the famous Camden Yards which is home to the Orioles. This is actually the first yard to go “retro”. Certainly a sight to behold especially for baseball fans; film buffs should try to visit the Charles Theater which screens some of the best art house films to be found in the city. If you are up for something more tourist-y, sign up for a land and water tour of the city with Baltimore ducks.
People who prefer a different kind of thrill can join the Baltimore Ghost Tours which will give you a tour of the more bizarre and bawdy areas. You can also get a haunted pub tour for $20 but make sure that you are older than 21.
Go to the Baltimore Museum of art if you want to see some pieces that could rival the ones to be found in the Smithsonian. You will never be bored in Baltimore as there is something for everyone. Leave the place with fond memories and full bellies.
